From Kort...
I don't mind this place at all!
Today we went to playgroup. There are lots of kids and mummies from lots of different places: Ireland, Africa, France, England--and even a few kids from Scotland! I really like the toys they have, and I always get excited when the snack tray comes out. I can't eat the biscuits yet, though I often try to take a bite from my friends. But, they also have fruit, which I gobble up. I've been showing off how I can stand on my own for a little while. Once I realize I've done it, I drop down quickly before I fall. I think soon I might decide to stretch one foot out and take a step...but Mama better be close by.
Yesterday I went to the creche at the gym while mom worked on her bum, tum and wobbly bits (though she said it wasn't a great class--go figure). Karen is my favorite "child minder" and she might come babysit for me in the evening--after she comes back from holiday in July.
Papa's been working in Aberdeen this week, so Mom's got the car. We've gone all over this town together! We get up to take Papa to the train station and pick him up in the evening. Then, we get to go to the grocery store (and we can get a lot more food than we do when we're in the buggy) and do other fun stuff.
Yesterday we went to Hoodles--this might be my favorite place in all of Scotland! They call it a Playbarn and Coffee Shop. There is a giant indoor "soft-play" area, with a special place for me and my baby friends, though I like to watch the big kids in their area. There is also a big playground outside that I haven't even been in yet. Mom likes Hoodles because she can get a latte and yummy snacks --we can have lunch in the cafe area or take our snacks into my play area. All three of us went to check it out on Saturday when it was raining--and it was packed! We stayed for a while, but Dad said it smelled like a hamster cage (sweaty kids, I guess). Mom and I might go there every week. Mom thinks we should open one in the USA when we move back. It's pretty cool...
I'm sort of sad--I tried to talk to Meme and my auntie on the computer/webcam, but it's not working. So, Mom muted our microphone and let me show off my tricks for auntie. She watched me crawl and stand and bark (I bark a lot) and play with my lotion bottles...
Speaking of my lotion bottles. Have I told you that this is my current favorite toy? It's not really a toy, but more like a security bottle. Pretty much all the time I like to have at least one of the Johnson and Johnson miniature baby lotion bottles (you know, the pink ones) in my hand. Often I have one in each hand. I can crawl, hold on to furniture, and sleep with one in my hand (if you don't believe me, check out these photos). If someone takes it away, I really need to be distracted, or I'm distraught. I know--it might be a little funny, but I'm only 10 months and I don't like pacifiers or thumbs, so give me a break.
I'll write more soon. Bye-bye (I'm practicing my wave!)
