It's a gray day in the UK. Luckily no rain today, but there's been a lot over the past couple of days. I had clothes out on the line since Monday that just continued to get wetter and wetter with the rain. Andy finally brought them in last night and now they are slung over the radiatiors throughout the house. Is it really summer? The days are still long, so it must be; but it doesn't feel like it. Sometimes I think about you guys sweating in Texas and Louisiana and I think, while I'd like a tan, I don't mind this weather. 10 degrees warmer would be perfect, but it's not up to me, I guess.

Kort and I are a little bummed today. We left the house for our playgroup, but when we got to the church, I realized it was cancelled. The organizer is away on holiday, so I guess that means no playtime for us. K didn't seem to mind, though, as he immediately fell asleep in the car. I thought we'd go to the grocery store instead, since we were already out. No go on that idea--couldn't bear to wake the sleeping baby. Now we're home and he's sleeping peacefully and I'm having an early lunch (it's not even 11 am, but sometimes I'd rather eat a civilized lunch versus trying to shovel food in both of our mouths at the same time). On a random side note, I think we go to the grocery all the time; Andy did some budgeting and found that we spent close to 500 pounds a month of food. That's a lot for only one kiddo! But, we haven't been out to eat since we were in Glasgow, so I guess it's ok.

This Saturday we head out on our holiday (I'm actually used to using that word now)--so no blog updates til we get back. We're loading up the dogs and bikes (thankfully Andy just got us a roof-top luggage box and bike rack) and heading to the Isle of Mull, one of the Argyll islands on the western coast of Scotland. We're spending Andy's birthday there, and hoping to do some hiking ("walking" here), fishing, and relaxing in a little cottage we rented near the coast. There's no tv in the cottage, so we're taking some movies and our laptop in case we're desperate for some entertainment. It looks like a really neat place, with both towns and countryside to explore. http://www.holidaymull.co.uk/
